#32: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
While I have to admit that this book did not change my life (to the utter consternation of some of my coworkers, who L-O-V-E-D it), I have to say that the approach is unique, the end is affecting (although I personally believe it shouldn’t take me six hundred pages to finally catch up to the author), and, while some of the prose felt a little self-indulgent, perhaps a little self-satisfied, The Book Thief is an excellent book—it just didn’t touch me the way I’d hoped.
