#46: First Among Sequels by Jasper Fforde

First Among Sequels is actually Jasper Fforde’s fifth book in the Thursday Next series and, while I think Fforde is super clever and very funny and a brilliant writer and I of course look forward to reading Shades of Gray when it eventually comes out, I don’t think the Thursday Next series is right for me anymore, since I spent most of the time I read FAS A. wishing it was The Eyre Affair or Lost in a Good Book or even The Well of Lost Plots, B. wishing it was a novel with a story instead of a guide to the bureaucracy of BookWorld with some of Fforde’s trademark puns thrown in for color, C. wishing it was set fourteen or so years before it was actually set, and D. wishing it was over.
